Here in Maryland, there are few specialty scrapbook stores. Actually, there were 12 Stores total, in the State of Maryland. Unfortunately, two have closed.
Recollections, one in Columbia, Maryland, the other in Towson, Maryland have closed their doors. From my understanding, all 11 Recollections throughout the U.S. are closed or will be closing shortly.
If you are not aware, Recollections was a division and owned by Michaels. When Michaels was sold, the new owners decided that ALL Recollections stores would close.
Recollections was the largest specialty scrapbook store in our state. It held over 120,000 different products, offered classes, crops, and more.
I am a retail scrapbook store owner and find it very sad when another scrapbook store closes and would like to remind all scrapbook friends and addicts that it is incrediably important to support your local scrapbook store.
The only way to expand the passion of scrapbooking is to share it with a friend. What can you share if there are no stores to share it with?
